I’m pleased to inform you that our roof project is finally getting
underway. It will take approximately 3 weeks to finish the roof work.
It is our hope that this will bring to an end the nuisance leaks.
There are a couple of other projects that are either complete or are in progress of being completed.
They are the lighting of the Hefner Road stained glass and the mounting of our projectors in the Sanctuary. I thank the Trustees for all of the hard work that they have put in to get these projects completed. I also thank our facility staff and Stevie Richardson for all of the extra work they have put in because of our roof problems and so many summer activities. The Trustees have several other projects slated to begin shortly, including working on artwork for the Great Hall. The Great Hall artwork project will likely take a few months to complete. I will do my best to keep you informed on the progress of our other upcoming projects that are planned for this fall.
Our annual inspection by the Fire Marshall’s office has been completed. There were a couple of minor issues that we will address, but on the whole, everything went very well. One issue that will need to be addressed is the “fire lane” on the south side of our church. The Fire Marshall’s office wants the “fire lanes” opened at all times. We will let you know more about the needed changes after the Trustees study the Fire Marshall’s report at their upcoming August meeting.
As we approach the end of the summer, we are really looking forward to all of the scheduled activities that are being planned. It will be good to see everyone again as our summer activities and travels come to an end. Right now we are somewhat behind in meeting our 2007 budget. I am confident that these shortfalls will be corrected shortly.
